My first try at molding a tunnel portal in plaster

I just tried to mold the west moffat tunnel portal in plaster. It’s good to be my first try but I made some mistakes. It seems that my plaster mix was too thin. I will make it thicker next time.

I also have a question for you guys. How thin can I make a plaster wall with regular plaster of paris?

I recall as a kid having a set of molds to create likenesses of several presidents and I used plaster of paris. They were only about 1/4" thick and were very durable. I guess it’s just a matter of mixing the right amound of water and plaster so it sets up hard.
