My Friends Grand Entry into Model Railroading.

Well after briefly considering S scale, my freind Richard became enamored with a Bachmann Tri-Level Auto Rack lettered ATSF which he purchased off E-bay. This firmly cements him into HO scale. So everyone lets hear it for my friend Richard as he joins us all in this great hobby of Model Railroading.

James

Here here!

Welcome Aboard Richard!!

HARHARHAR! Once again, that one special piece of HO equipment has worked it’s magic! I was deeeeep into N scale when I bought an Ortner Rapid Discharge Hopper, produced by Roundhouse IIRC and lettered for Southern.

Oh yes, welcome Richard, and glad to have another HOmaniac on board. Now, James, you need to drag him into these forums!

Welcome, enjoy the addiction and remeber theres no rehab for trains wooo!

All are [#welcome]

I do what I can, but unfortutly, access to the forums is subsciption based, and his train budget doesn’t allow for a subscription yet. But he has been with me for the last several days and has helped me carefully consider my choice of words with my ongoing urination contest with TA462 on the Bachmann Santa Fe GP40 thread. But We will get him lined out on the forum as soon as possible.

Richard says tell me more about this addiction, no one said anything about an addiction.

[%-)] Since when? I’m not a subscriber. All he needs to do is join with a valid E-mail address.

I stand corrected. I got the impression when I reapplied for the revamped site several years ago. the forum was for magazine subscribers only. Oh well. Now we just need to get Richard Internet access.

James.

Now we just have to be careful the “N” scalers don’t take him to the dark side…

Oh don’t worry, We have such intimate knowledge of the Dark Zide, we are feared by N and Z scalers alike.

We know the song “Great Big Rolling Rialroad” LOL

[#welcome] aboard Richard!

[bday]

A model railroader is born. Who’s got a cigar?

Or us G, On30 and the rest of us narrow gaugers. Come on over to the dark side. It’s unique, different, and a lot of fun!

Ain’t nothin’ that can’t be done in HO, Richard. Welcome aboard.

So ‘Sir Richard’ "cements’’ himself into HO with a single HO purchase from Ebay? - or are we makimg anticipatory 'ass’umptions??

I highly doubt assumption is being made at all. It was my being in HO scale that tipped the balance infavor of HO. But I was fully prepared to back him on an S scale venture.

James

WAS up, Richard. Welcome to model railroading. I personally prefer N scale, but I don’t have a ton of room for a model railroad, so I had no choice.

And now we all confuse the new modeler about what scale to do…[swg]

Thats OK. Being Dazed and Confused are natural states for us. LOL
