My Halloween Costume This Year... (A bit off topic)

I was invited to a Halloween party the other day, and have decided on what I’ll just call the old engineer…
It will consist of an old man mask that’s bald headed, a railroad engineer’s cap, a pair of overalls, an old flanal work shirt, a railroad pocket watch, an old red bandana to hang out of my pocket, White Mule work gloves and a pair of old brown lace up work boots.
The great thing is, I just happen to have all of this stuff on hand and didn’t have to go out and buy a thing.

So what are you gonna be ?.

I was going to go as a “zombie” engineer, but I haven’t gotten anything for it, and I’m afraid it’s too late now.

All you need is an engineer outfit, splatter it with party blood, buy some grotesque make-up, like the eyeball hanging out of the socket, metal shards, slits and cuts, and so on. Burn marks would be great, being from the steam of the boiler when it went BOOM!

My older brother is a machinist, so he could make me a prop throttle to carry around, but he would need more time than this. But it would be cool.[:D]

The problem with a prop throttle is that nobody would know what it was…

I was a rabid railfan last year (scanners, cameras, timetables, spotters guides…). I have no idea what I’m doing this year.

Well…does it really matter if they know what it is? I mean, if they ask, I can swing it around, and hopefully they’ll run away.[}:)][:p][:D]

i’ve got duty that night [:(] so i’ll be a bored sailor standing the midwatch. oh well. i’ll just have to “inspect” all my son’s candy the next day. :smiley:

I haven’t been able to do anything train related, but last year I hid in the widow well o the train room, standing on the temporarily removed roundhouse site, and grabeed little kid’s legs as they went by. Got a couple to cry, LOL

Shame on you trainboyH16-44, you’re as bad as I am… Last Halloween I walked into my sisters house with the old man mask on that I’ll be wearing to the party I mentioned at the first of the thread and scared my little nephew so bad he started crying. I said I was sorry, but just between me and you I wasn’t. He’s a mean little brat. Also, people scared me when I was a little kid, so now it’s my turn… As far as that goes, I’ve got a 45 year old female cousin that’s real childish and kind of screwy in the head that believes in ghost. I’d like to lock her up in some old haunted looking house that’s full of spooky electronic tricks and see how she comes out of it the next morning. They’d probably have to put her in a straight jacket the rest of her life. She’s almost there now…

I like your mentality! [(-D] I was thinking of dressing up as Beetlejuice with a engineers cap! I think that will work. I have a couple of kids on my block that are pranksters! I think it’s time for me to really define to them the meaning of ‘Trick or Treat’ [:D] (In all good taste).

I’ll be masquerading as a flight nurse/paramedic with a red & blue flight suit…'cause I’m on duty, too! [V]
