101-2464.jpg[4:-)]I really like water scenes on my railroads no matter how small or large they are. I have tried different water affects, but this is one of my favorites. The base is 1/4 inch plywood that extends out from the railroad, it has bracing underneath. I then paint the base with a mixture of black, forest green, and a hint of blue, let it dry overnight, then I cover it with 4-6 coates of high gloss Mod-Podge, letting it dry between applications. You can see the finished harbor, the barge is scratch built out of a piece of one by four planking, painted with details added to the deck.

That is a Walthers warehouse to the right. I think it makes a good scene for my railroad.

I also like water scenes, and your harbor is very well done. Mine is a carfloat terminal. When I reconfigure the layout for its new home, I will move the carfloat up to the front and get it out of the back corner.

Nice scene and nice work on the barge, Robert. I’ve never tried my hand at modeling water but I’ve heard good things about using Mod Podge. That will be my material of choice when i get to that stage.
