Every hobbyist needs an adequate space or location to work on and build his hobby projects. Right now I am working on a model railroad layout.
Here is my hobby work space:
Please note it is a “horse shoe” or “U” shape design. As I sit at the work table on the left is a small folding tray then a TV tray. These are used to hold the components and items needed to work on the current model railroad layout build, part of which is is also shown in the photos. Under this TV tray is a box and sack used for recycling/waste generated during the layout build. For example packaging material from Atlas Snap Track.
On the work table is a blue metal box. It holds fasteners and hardware needed for the build. For example #256 machine screws, washers and nuts used on the HO scale rolling stock and locomotives. To the right of the blue box is the hobby tool box. It holds everything that is needed for the current layout build as well as other hobby’s that require small screw drivers pliers, hobby knife, etc. Right of the tool box is a bottle of 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. This is used for anything from cleaning parts, components and even the track on the layout. After the alcohol is a device called a Helping Hands. It has 2 articulating “alligator” style clips, a magnifying glass with LED light. It is used to hold small parts when both of the hobbyist hands are needed to work on the small parts and components. After the helping hands tool is what is called an HO Scale Cradle. It is used when working on locomotives and rolling stock. In front of the cradle is cardboard used as shims, etc. for the layout build.
To the immediate right of the work table is a chair with the back missing. It is used to hold books, catalogs and other things not immediately needed during the current layout build.
In front of the chair is the other TV tray. It is used to hold tools. On it is a tool box with electrical tools in it, a box of tooth picks, a box of s
