My latest distraction, personal pan size Pizza

My latest distraction, after reworking the portable I had a bunch of bluefoam, wood and a 21" circle just laying around, I hate that, so I thought I’d try throwing them together …

Still mucking about with it, maybe one day I’ll actually be able to take it to a show somewhere

Perfect track work for a Price 16 Wheeler… regards ralph

That looks great! If that is a personal pan pizza then what is an extra large? - Peter

Wow now if Ray would make you a few california condor’s to nest on the penicals…

Good start on the pan pizza

Dave

I say, take it to a show just as it is, let the viewing public put the pepperoni and sausage on the pizza.

But have you got the track wired so you can run two engines at the same time?[swg]

ya mean like this ?? [:P]

Ahah, drag racing Macks from the King of Mack bashing. I know I need a new set of glasses, but I failed to see a start/finish line?[(-D]

Are you brining the pizza to the Fairplex?

So far theres no word if the MLS group will have a booth or not.

Fantastic, but you sure do have a future in politics. I don’t believe you have demonstrated individual control, running one slow and one fast (an impossible feat as are most political solutions), so you demonstrate something else. Bravo!

What type of locomotive is that?

A Hartland Locomotives Works (HLW) Mack:http://www.h-l-w.com/Products/Selfpowered/Mac%20Yellow%20web.jpg A very nice engine from waht I have heard. - Peter

That’s very cool. I have always liked it in the OP’s signature, but never knew what it was.

John

I like them (Macks) too.

Vic, I think you may have convinced me to someday build a Pizza layout!

Actually in the upper pic its this one, a Mack based Whadahellizit #2

My signiture pic is this one, an LGB Porter:

The Porter was used as a model for the Mack bash

Blue foam, pink foam, Geodesic foam? What’s the difference? Pink foam is extruded foam, right? Geodesic foam is totally different, right? So what is best?

Pink foam and Blue foam are both the same foam, extruded polystyrene, but from different manufacturers. I use the blue Dow foam because I have a local source for it. The foam has a dense texture, cuts and carves really well. I bought a Woodland Scenics foam cutter and it does make working with the stuff MUCH easier to shape and form.

Geodesic foam is a 2 part mixed foam that has to be poured over a latex form to get the rock texture, that is then layed over either, I just learned to carve the rock forms into the blue foam but the geodesic stuff looks way better when painted correctly

DO NOT USE WHITE STYROFOAM, the large beaded stuff used for shipping packaging. It is a hellish mess to shape.

Forget about the layout and give us the pizza,[:)] Later RJD

Thanks for the information. I did a little research on foam cutters and if I was going to buy one I’d go with the Hot Wire Foam Factory products. Their products are a bit more $ but I think they’re worth the extra few bucks. The “Pro” tools are pretty cool-take a look at them.
