my layout photos

Hello this my layout.

and this is my bowser 4-6-2 and this my mdc 060 dad old trains. tell me what you think? thanks Frank

wow, now that is alot of power! you could hook up a consist of locomotives in seconds! do you have any history of the trains (manufacturur wise)? it looks like theres some vintage equipment there too, like that SOO diesel in the roundhouse. is there any more layout or is that it?

post more pics!!!

How many locomotives do you have?

Looks good, just wondering if you will have any room for tree’s, mountains, etc?

I like the roundhouse, is that a 90 foot turn table on there?

It looks nice, but very very cluttered.

I built a good sized apartment layout 2 years ago based on the Atlas track plan HO-36. It was a 14 foot by 8 foot “L” type layout. I took the original layout and added a larger yard to make room for a larger turntable and 9 bay roundhouse. After spending almost $8,000 for track, DCC, Engines, Rolling stock, Decoders, switches, wire, control panel, Plywood and lumber, and several hundred hours of work, I realized that I crammed way to much track into the plan. What I basically had was a great layout to run trains round and round in circles with almost no room left for things like roads, buildings and scenery. It just didn’t look very real.

Live and Learn I guess…

Very nice! I think you have more locos than freight cars LOL.

Wow 060 you have a bunch of motive power…how long did it take you to get all those engines?..Cox 47

I guess I would have to stand up and say that this layout is too cluttered and overflowing with engines and cars. The images were difficult for me to view due to the explosion of wild colors and mixture of eras/motivepower and no scenery of note.

Now that I got that off my chest.[X-)]

Leave him alone… if this is the way he wants the layout so be it. I think that most MR’s think that layouts have to have senery and so on and so forth… please lets not argue over this…

That is all I plan to say. There will be no further input or comments from me on this thread.

If there is any arguing as you put it, let the others do it. Not me. I wont participate.

There has been way too much drama over the last 10 days or so and Im sick of it.

It certainly is a colorful potpourri of railroad.

Skittles!

060, you got it goin on Man!!! I want to see how you expand that facility, You got a great engine terminal going, Now for some industries to put all that motive power to work.

WOW! Old school Toy Trains, HO style!..nice…thanks for showing us.

Hello I would like to say that everyones input is welcome. So be honest. Yea I know ther is alot of stuff . It’s 8’3’‘x5’2’’ table and it is full. This is my frist layout senes I was 8-10 you can tell. Most of it is. The 4 yellow/bule santa fe,pa-1,2 dock siders, the soo my grandpa gave me it’s a ahm tempo. Some of it’s my dad stuff from the 40-50 2 are varney f7 mdc 060 some rolling stock. Some of it is going . I may get the rest of this room I can make an L shape or I get half the up stairs then I could 9x18. But that will take time. So now I think of what I want in the next layout and most of all I can run trains with my dad and littel girl. Some of the rolling stock is for practice my wethering on 3 of the chessie are my friend and the rolling stock behind the roundhouse . The turntable is a 90’ the roundhous was for a smaller table dad made it and did not want it so i cut it to fit. Thank you for the input Frank

I would have gone nuts over that layout as a kid! If you couple all of the locos together, do they reach around the mainline? Looking at that roster brings back a lot of my childhood.

The old Bowser K4 is great, and who doesn’t remember those AHM C-Liners? I had a friend when I was 11 whose dad had about 8 of them. I always loved the way they roared and shook the plywood, then flipped over when they went into a curve too fast. That’s why the horns never lasted long. I think Mehano must have turned those out by the billions. [(-D]

He asked, “What do you think?”

Don’t ask if you don’t want to hear the answer.

My reply is that it is, indeed, too crowded with track. I prefer something a bit more realistic.
