You’ve packed an AMAZING amount of action and detail into that layout–I really like what you’ve done. Between this and those beautiful night shots on your other post, you should be really proud of what you’ve done.
Great photos, Jess! The military musem on your layout reminds me of the one in Wolfborough, NH. I was just up in Ossipee 2 weeks ago. Took plenty of pictures of the old grain elevator for reference. I’m going to model it on our layout.
Good work with a lot of imagination. Please be sure to update us when your quarry scene is modified. A layout is never really done; I am sure you will have more photos in the future!!
Jim you should have told me you were in Ossipee, I live down the street from an old grain elevator that is off Moultonvile Rd, it has a set of tracks on the side of it and there is a little corner store there called P B&Js , next time let me know when your in town and if I’m off we could meet up for a coffee and some MRR talk!!!
I work in Wolfeboro and the Museum that your thinking of has a Sherman tank busting through the wall of the Museum…I know the place well and it was the insperation for mine.
Top notch! You have so much stuff and so many varying styles yet nothing is crowded and everything is in great balance. It seems like every time I look at one of your scenes I find something I did not see before! And as for the Batmobile? [tup][tup][tup][tup][tup]
Ya know Jess, the quarry color looks pretty good to me. [tup]
The surrounding scenery may have calmed the color some, or the paint may have darkened as it dried, or maybe you may have done something to it. [%-)] But it doesn’t appear as pink as it did when you first painted it.
That’s the grain elevator I’m referring to, Jess. “Purina Chows” painted on the sides. You live right down the street from it?! Small world! Next time I’m up there, I’ll let you know.
I think it darkened up when it was fully cured and the added color around it might have helped, I didn’t do anything too it so it must be one of the two or maybe a combination of things, I wouldn’t mind redoing it as a Native village dig site, I think that would be a challenge but also a unique point of interest that I’ve not seen done on another layout, I do like being a ground breaker so…we shall see what the future brings.
Thats the one Jim, I was curious, did you get to photo all sides of it, from the road it looks like it is attached to the white building next too it by a corner of the building, I’ve never really gotten that close to the other sides but it is indeed a great example of an old grain elevator.
Come to think of it , it does have the old faded lettering of the Dog chow co.
I live about 1 mile up the street from that location and would love to get together with you next time your in my neighborhood and then you could get to see my layout in person, let me know, I’ll PM you with my home # incase your up here again.
Over the few months I’ve been gone from being invovled here, your skills have improved alot! That is amazing what you have done. you’ve gotten more done than I have!
