My layout is an HO scale that runs around a 4x8 pool table. It is not 100% finished but I think I got the best part of it done! It is a mix between a rural and urban layout. (I don’t have a lot of indestries yet) There is a modern time period and the only steam engine is still of the modern age. As for engines I don’t particuarly model one train,(I take whatever I get![:D][:D][:D]) I’ve been told that some people can help me if I give then some info. I hope I’m right![:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]
Now that’s a novel idea! Play pool while you run your trains. Seriously though what kind of information or help are you asking for? As far as taking what you can get I have the same idea. I model the 1950’s give or take 30 years.
Terry
First of all, if you’re new to the hobby, it’ll be “years” before the newness wears off - you lucky dog you… Secondly, it’s spelled “industries”.
As for building your layout on a pool table. If you’re okay with it we’re okay with it, but it sure seems to be a terrible waste (I love playing pool) of a pool table.
You just have fun and enjoy yourself, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
Tracklayer
Yep Tracklayer is right, plus using the forum search can be real useful if looking for stuff. did you think about mounting the track on a board that can be moved off so you can still play pool? Plus anyone who says their layout is finished is a rare person, all of use just keep adding or subtracting, redoing, or removing, revamping and restyling, changing scale (some do, others wouldn’t thing of it, but don’t lock that possibility out), and era, ect. The hobby is anything you want it to be or don’t, our life, or just a passing fad(hope not). That’s not only my 2 cents for today, but almost poetry too.
" I model the 1950’s give or take 30 years."
Lol… I love it! Terry, can I steal that from ya? [:D]

Yeah, I laughed at that one, too. Good one.[:D]
