My MTH NS SD70 lights went out, help.

Hi GUYZ,
I was running my new MTH SD70 last nite for about an hour when the lights went out on the engine. No interior lites, ditch lites, headlight, or back up lites. I did the reset with the DCS and still nothing. Any ideas to get them back on? Tanks,

Laz,

Have you tried to reset it while running it conventionally. To do the reset, enter neutral and press the bell once followed by five presses of the whsitle button. Sometimes, this reset clears more that the reset under DCS.

Laz sure you have checked this but could it be a lose connection under the shell maybe got loose in shipping and it vibrated the rest while running.

Don’t have any bright ideas, maybe setup on a piece of isolated track with xfmr. Start engine in conventional mode … then cycle lights off and on. Maybee???

Did the transformer reset and no go, rechecked under the hood all looks ok, got to send it out to get fixed.

I wonder if Lionel and MTH contract the same manufacturer, due to both company’s products having, almost, the same problem(s), or maybe the same company who makes the electronic guts.

I think you’re on to something. Probably the guts manufacturer? Oh well contacted MTH Service and sending it out today. I’ll let you know what gives.
