Let me know what you think!! this is going to be a mining layout set in the colorado rockies around the 20’s. It will be producing mostly ore ( gold, silver, coper ) an I will be running a couple shays and a 2-8-0 for starters with the eventual 2-8-2 and 4-8-2. Any way let me know what you think. The track outside the table is the track that goes under the upper deck by way of a tunnel. The layout is 30"x48" and will have a couple trestles and a river.
What is the radius of your curves? If you intend to run 4-8-2’s dont try it with less than 22".
It looks like a RTS Planner you used from Atlas. Have you tried the feature where you can test clearences? You can enter the length of the car, distance between the truck centers and let it run a moment to see if all is clear.
I did use the atlas RTS 7, I dont know all the features yet as I have not played with it to much yet. I do have plans for future expansion as this is going to be the first modual so to speek. The track in the very front is going to run right to the edge till I have a larger space to work with. I will post up the entire layout as soon as I have it designed.
As for the radius I am trying to keep the visiable curves at 11" (22" diameter) and all hidden curves are 9 3/4". From what I have been told the 4-8-2 will be fine on the curves. My maxium length of the cars I am going to try and hold at 40’, 30’s if i can find them. Any way back to work, lol.
