Since this is the start of MY weekend, I guess it’s a little late for WFF. It’s just a 1’x4’ module, but it’s all I have… I threw it together with leftover stuff from my old layout. Thought I’d start practicing new techniques to improve upon what I didn’t like from my last. I’m starting to “get” some of the scenery techniques (sort-of). I find it a good sign when I like the technique I just did better than the last one I tried, but I always see how I could have done something better. Yet, if anyone has ever been 100% happy with their work the first time, I congratulate you!
Excellent job!

Ditto. I like what you have done so far. [8D]

Looking a bit lonely, though. Will that segment eventually grow into a layout?
No, this was just a practice module… it’ll be by itself. I did wire it up though, and I even put a magnet under the siding for a little switching fun! It’ll have to do for about two years. I haven’t even started planning the real one yet, so I’ll keep reading all of your guys’ posts for inspiration!
If that is a practice module, your layout will be one of the greatest.
Looks great! Is it N scale? Didn’t realize it might be until I saw the overall pic. Impressive work, hope you get the chance to acquire some more ROW real soon.
Yeah, it’s n-scale… I plan to model modern western PA, or possibly the Chattanooga area of TN. I know it’s a little common, but it’s what I like. I hand-carved almost everything out of pink foam (not the trees or trains :), and I found out that it’s gonna take while. The trees are a mixture of Supertrees, puffballs, and some kind of weed from the back yard (hope it’s not poisonous). I also discovered “garage sale” tin signs make wonderful roads! Anyway, I don’t have any kids, the wife is supportive, and I have every fifth week off in my work cycle… I suppose I should have the whole thing up, running, and tweaked by now…
Very nice work…you should be proud of it! [tup]

I must agree that your “mini” layout turned out very well. It looks like you managed to acheive a balanced scene in a very limited space, and of course, N scale is perfect for this. Small yet complete, you could easily incorporate it into a larger layout. Excellent work, now you know you’re ready for the big leagues!
