My Proto 2000 S1 switcher died

I ran my new HO gauge S1 switcher into a “short” when I had a turnout thrown the wrong way (a “power routing” turnout). I threw the turnout to correct the situation, but the engine didn’t recover, as it had on a few earlier occasions. The headlight doesn’t come on and it won’t run at all. Have I fried the electronics?
Thanks- Richard White

I’ve seen instances where a short circuit has melted the solder off pc boards, simply needing to be re-soldered(I’ve bought several elecronic items at yard sales, usually for less than $1, that have needed just that!), so look it over carefully before giving up. Good Luck!

Richard;
