My Weekend (or many weekends actually...) work

Hey all,

So, I have finally enough courage to post my work in progress. I am modeling a freelance setting in the Pacific Northwest, in the Cascades, south of Mount Rainier. The time period is 1946-1955. I will be running GN, UP and Northern Pacific on crossing lines, as well as a Weyerhauser logging and some mining trains on the upper (3rd) deck. Anyways, here are some picks of my progress (be gentle!)… Comments welcome!

My falls (name yet to be determined). The rock color is based after Snoqualmie falls area rock color/formations.

My other hobby…fly fishing. I still have to paint the water and do some more detailing, but here it is so far.

Mount “Reindeer” (as my son calls it). Needs more work, but a start…

Anyways, just thought I would share! I am sure having fun…wish I did not have to study for my boards… I want to work on it…

Brian

P.S. Sorry the pictures are so big…first time (what pixel size you all use?) Anyways, it was not NEARLY so hard as people are posting…cut and paste from photobucket. Simple.

Very nice work so far. Love the bridge in the first pic. What kind is it?

Tom

PS Some very capable people hare having some difficulties (as yet unresolved) posting pics and some are not. Please do not dismiss their diffiuclties.

Kitbashed a lifelike bridge if I remember correctly… I took out the ugly plastic bottom plate and used C and I bar styrene to make a base to support the track. I had to cut the ties on my flex track shorter by like 3/32 to fit then, but it worked out! Also made scratchbuilt bridge piers from Durham’s water putty. Link for bridge is below:

And I did not mean to dismiss peoples difficulties, but merely to point out that it is NOT hard for some people. I think that this means it may be part of a hardware problem for the poster NOT the forum… but I digress. I did not mean to offend, only to give hope to others who have not yet posted pictures…

Cool. Thanks for the link.

Tom

NICE pics. Love the bridge and the falls. Please add the bridge pic to the thread on huge bridges so we bridge lovers can get our fix on one great thread. Keep the pics coming.

PS I like the big pics because I like the deatils, but then I’m luckey, my wife has highspeed.
