Can anyone help me with info on how to get the shell off this little engine. Tks Kirk
With one hand hold the fuel tank, with the other hand either grab just above the front or the rear truck under the walk way and rock the shell back and forth while gently pulling up and away from the frame. It will start to slide off, if the tank happens to come off just put it to the side and hold the frame where the tank sits and continue. You might also have to go back and forth from the front to the rear while lifting. Never, ever hold it by the trucks as you can break off the tabs that hold the trucks in the frame.
It actually depends on which version you have. If it’s the most recent, the above instructions will be fine. If it’s an older one, there’s a few tricks. A key identifier would be the couplers. If they are body mounted to the pilot, you have a newer one. If they are mounted on the trucks (and swivel with the wheels) then you have an older one.
For that, you have to carefully remove the cab from the shell, then pry the main shell away from the little mounting tabs that are on the frame under the cab.
If you have a really old Atlas Roco (pre 1980) the you’ll need to just put it in the driveway, and back over it with your SUV.
