I came across this track plan, and started watching the introductory video. AWESOME!! This track plan/layout is an excellent way to capture a realistic feel of a major class one carrier in an extremely limited space. The whole key to making it work is the helix, leading into staging. The ability to run multiple different trains is vital!
The benchwork looks a bit tricky, especially with the removable piece. However this is a neccessary evil if you live in an apartment like I do.
I will adapt the setting to my railroad of choice, the Alaska Railroad! The track plan will stay the same, the mountains will be there, but snow covered!
Looks like I have to renew my subscription to see the videos!
Anyone else want to build one too?
SUBSCRIBED!!! Watching David’s videos now!
The first video basic benchwork is great, I’m making up my cut list!
I wish David showed a picture of the benchwork with ALL of the measurements. I’m going to have to get a little creative to come up with some of the measurements not shown.
[8D]Ahhh…I’m catching a few more dimensions the more of the videos I watch!
emergency stop, emergency stop!! got to video #7, benchwork adjustments. I think I might hold off a bit until I see how this turns out! [Y]
The Canadian Canyons layout will be featured in MR in the near future. I’m sure that the relevant measurements and details will be presented then. I hope that you can be patient and wait a little while. Don’t get discouraged [:D]
Joe
no worries Joe! I’m just excited! Here’s a few pics from my ho scale alaska railroad dioramas i made this past spring testing out a few scenery methods.
EDIT: ok slightly embarassing. [:$]I’m off to see the thread on how to post photos.
[:$]see if I understood correctly.

Very nice! I’ll be looking forward to your layout build.
