n scale couplers trouble

It seems that a lot of my rolling stock which has micro-trains couplers seem to break easily(the couplers), do i have to replace both trucks ( at a apalling price of $12 for 2 trucks) or can i just replace the couplers?

Depending on which parts are actually broken, you should be able to get everything you need to repair MT couplers. Micro-Trains sells packets of springs, couplers, etc.

I’m kind of puzzled that you seem to have this problem; MT couplers never seemed to be especially fragile.

Odd. Have they been dropped? I’ve not experienced couplers breaking, though I have had to replace some springs.

Well Kenfolk, one of the cars seemed to just roll of the table and i do not know what happend to the other, but regarding the other post, my local hobby shop must not carry those parts in n scale.(They do in HO, of course) All they have is the whole trucks

Make sure what you have is a Micro Trains coupler. Athearn and Atlas also offer cars with knuckle couplers, but they aren’t MT, so the parts won’t be compatible.

These things are all pretty bullet proof under normal operating conditions, but they are very fragile if you’re mis-handling your stuff. Handle things with a little caution, and you won’t have these problems.
