How did you/would you install ditch lights in n scale loco’s? I have a Kato AC4400 and thinking about it. Websites or directions would be awsome. Thanks
Scott Schifer at the Belmont Shore RR Club has done just that and it look great on his engines. Try to contact hime through the Belmont shore web site. http://www.socaln.com/belmont/index.html Let him know Tony ask you to contact him. I am a member as well.
Dosn’t the N scale ac4400 come with ditch lights?? From Kato USA – Model Features — The Kato AC4400CW will feature Cab, Headlight, Inverter Cabinet, and Number Board details accurate for each prototype roadname. Models will have directional headlights and lighted walkway-mounted ditch lights, as well as lighted Number Boards. The models feature Kato Magnetic Knuckle Couplers, our five-pole motor with dual brass flywheels for smooth operation, and a DCC-Friendly mechanism for easy drop-in of a DCC decoder. This model is ideal for use with our SD70MAC and BethGon Coalporter. –
The AC4400’s ditch lights are lighted by one LED, therefor if you want to add ditch lights you have to add individual lamps/LED’s for each ditch light, but im confused about that technical part.
Would using the extra function output on your decoder for another LED work??
I did wire two 1.5V lamps with 500ohm resistors(resistors are at the common) and when i tried turning it on it didnt work, even after programing the CV’s multiple time with different effects. Now I’m stumped.
