N scale layout based on Antelope Mine/Converse Jct down to W. Bill and Bill on the Orin Sub

Hi Guys and Gals, I’m new to all of this. As the subject line indicates, I’m looking for info specific to this section. I bought a couple of videos from Pentrex (King Coal/Powder River Coal Trains) that have been very helpful. I’ve also been on RailPictures.net and have scrounged as much info from current and back issues of Trains mag. as I can get my hands on. I’d like to get pics of the trackage from Converse Jct down to Bill (as complete as possible), the Antelope Mine spur and loadout area, and the car yard, sidings, and crew change facility at Bill. I’ve seen tons of pics from the Steckley Rd. overpass but not much else, and all the pics have trains in them (imagine that)! I’m also interested in pics of Rt 59 as it relates to crossings and overpasses in this area. I’ve tried Google Earth but the resolution is pretty poor. Has anyone done the Orin Sub as a layout? What other places can I go for what I need? Thanks for reading and for any help you can offer. Mike

Mike,

You might want to look at Google Map or Bing Maps for more current info, I suspect a lot of those videos are years old and most of the line is now triple track, with 4 track areas as well. Somehow I think you are going to get tired of watching endless N scale coal trains(I have been out in the PRB several times and after the first day, we tend to get tired of watching just coal trains!). A couple of issues ago, Trains Magazine had a really good article and maps on the PRB operations
