What would be the best thing to use to make 50’s era N scale utility pole type lights in N? I rummaged through the local Radio Shack and found some “micro-bulbs” (micro compared to a regular light bulb I guess) that I used for interior lighting…but the would be way to huge to be used as something exposed. Even their LED selections were too big. I am looking for something to light a rural gas station parking lot and a coal load area. I have no problem finding the pole material, but the bulbs are tough to get to scale, or at least close. How about some spare bulbs out of an old parts loco, anyone try this? Thanks! ----Rob
Rob, you might check online for grain-of-wheat or grain-of-rice bulbs. Model Power makes some, but there are probably electronics outlets that have a good selection at reasonable prices. I’ve heard that these will last a long time if you run them at less than their rated voltage.
