Today, Sunday April 10th at the Central Indiana Division, NMRA Danville Indiana Show and Meet, the N scale project layout ‘Middlefork Branch of the Southern Ry’ will be raffled off. This will be the last time that raffle tickets may be purchased for the layout that will be given away 2 PM in the afternoon.
Last September (2004), Matt Hewitt began construction with all items, time, and effort donated by Matt and others from the division. You can follow how the construction went from beginning to finish on the CID web site at: http://cid.railfan.net/
Tickets were sold at each meet, show and activity since last September and the response has been great. The layout itself is great and is designed to be expanded if that is what the winner wishes to do later. Yes, we sold several hundred chances with the proceeds going to support our Kids In Trains project.
