N Scale Newbie Saying Hi...

Just wanted to say hello to everybody on here!

I am very familiar with HO & O and decided last week to jump into N scale for the first time. I am currently building the N layout on a 30" X 50" folding table… nothing too fancy. Two loops and some sidings made from Kato Unitrack… modeled around a 1950’s southwest Route 66 theme. Nothing too complicated in the scenery department either. I just wanna sit & watch the trains run while I enjoy my adult beverage. [}:)]

I am in the Sacramento California area and the Great Train Expo will be here next weekend at the Cal Expo fairgrounds… just a question:

Is the show worth going to? Any good deals compared to the internet?

Thanks![8D]

Welcome, it sounds like you have found the right place. I went to the expo when it was here in Ohio and I didn’t find any deals at all. Then again, I guess it all depends on what you are after. There were many rtr n kits in HO that were priced ok as compared to the LHS, but they just were not the ones I was looking for. It was nice walking around though.

Hello KramerLines;

GTE is always worth going to when it’s in the area…if nothing else, but for the stroll [8D] As for bargains, I try to do my shopping towards the end of the day. Who wants to pack all that stuff up again…LOL
