I’m trying to track down an N scale P.R.R caboose. I’m not sure of the model or designation, but it was the one with round porthole windows…red w/black roof. I would say something from the 40s-50s. I’ve often seen them before in larger scales and think there is a 1:1 version at the P.R.R railroad museum in PA. If anyone knows a manufacturer, place to find and price range, I’d love to put one or two on my Christmas wish list! Thanks for your continued help ----Rob
As cuyama indicates, the one you want with the round portholes in the N5C by Bowser. I see them go for about $25, but you’ll probably want to swap out the couplers. I added Gold Medal Models’ PRR Trainphone antennas to mine.
Bowser also makes the N5 with square windows. Ditto on the Trainphone equipment.
Oh yes, and I would be remiss if I didn’t make a minor (very polite!) correction.
On the PRR they were called “cabin cars.” [;)]
The Standard Railroad of the World was standard only within itself; they were anything but standard with other railroads (Belpaire fireboxes, calling “helpers” “snappers,” position-light signals, etc.)
