N scale rail joiner, hard to puch in ?

Hi everyone’s,

Yesterday I went through the forum on rail joiner, but I was not able to find the problem I have with them.

After 30th years of railroading in N scale, it is the first time that I had the following problem with Atlas products. Last November, my layout was getting dusty since 1990 because the old man was working most of is time on a computer, especially in genealogy. However, this year I have decided to refurbish my small empire, lately I had problems with my track feeders and rail joiners, I find them very tight to fit on N scale 83 rails, does the Chinese had lost their finishing touches?

Any comments please.

I have had the same problem. I just finished the track on my new N scale layout. I had to loosen them up with a small skrew driver but I got it done.

One problem I used to have with N flex track was with cutting rails - this used to leave rough ends which made fitting joiners tricky. I solved this by using a Dremel-type cutting disk to cut rails - this could also be used to tidy up the ends by grinding off any burrs, etc. Hope this is of use!
