N-Scale: Replacing Model Power Trucks with Micro-Trains

I have two Model Power freight cars with rapido type couplers on the trucks ( No.4016 50’ gondola and No. 3419 Tank). I would like to change the trucks to the Micro-Trains trucks and couplers, but I have no idea what one I would replace it with. Please help.

It looks like any number of trucks will do it, so it really depends on the prototype truck style you want to simulate.

Now, how does one know what prototype truck style to use? I am just beginning to work on a layout, but the time period will be current. Is there a specific truck for modern day rolling stock?
