N-scale scratchbuilt Ferromex SD90MAC ?

I’ve been into modern N-scale freight trains with my son, the longer the better, and I really like the look of the Ferromex paint scheme. I’d like to create an SD-90MAC with the tapered engine compartment and the above mentioned paint scheme out of an unpainted Kato locomotive, but I’ve never painted, used decals, or altered a locomotive in any way. Could anyone in the know give me some direction toward this goal like where to get premade decals for Ferromex?

you might want to put this on the model railroad forum

Ok. I did just that. Thank you.

I beleive somene makes an SD90MAC in N scale. I could be wrong though, I’m one of them HO scalers…

ok, sounds pretty good, but like me you’ll run to to some problems such as no avialbilitiy of N scale decals for ferrocarrilles mexicanos there might be some by gaby’s decals, but n scale is a little hard to say at best for me because i model in ho and practically exclusive ndem the grandfather of recent mexican railroad companies, the only thing that i can offer is photos to be downloaded or better yet tell me how good is your spanish and i’ll direct u to an excellent forum on all mexican rairoad companies

Kato makes the SD-90MAC in N scale but as for the Ferromex decals, them will be hard to find.

The Kato engine is good for the SD9043MAC ‘Convertible’ - I does not have the tapered roof over the engine area. It would be a good start, I suspect only the roof would need to be scratchbuilt.

As far as decals - You might need to have custom ones created.
