I would like to put a signal in one spot on my coffee table layout. I would like one with working leds, but I just want them to alternate between red and green. I don’t want to tear up anything to put prototypical signalling in. Since it is effectively just a loop of track, I just want something that looks good in photographs. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to set this up. I already have a source of 15VAC to the spot where I would like the signal.
You should have a look at model power’s rail signals.

As far as I am aware model power use micro lamps rather then LED’s
The new Atlas “N” signals have LED’s but have 3 lights red yellow green, so I would suggest going to your local hobby shop and having a look and talk to them to find what you want.

Look at the Atlas RR site for a whole line of N scale signals and control boards
that probably will fit you needs. Very simple to install and they give the green,
yellow and red indications depending on where your train is on your layout.
Very basic but they work with out fail…
I have installed about twenty five signals on my layout and I am very happy
with the results…
