N-Scale Switchers

Go to the Digitrax website, they provide a link to an example of how to convert this loco. I had a small lenz chip which is excellent (Le5011). Incindentally, has anyone tried fitting the NWSL fine scale wheels? They look great and conductiivity is greatly improved, but it took hours to have the wheels rolling straight! Not as straightforward as it appears on the advertisement.

I just did this a few weeks ago, and it only took about 15 minutes (I did it as I was installing the decoder). Pu***he NWSL wheels all the way in on the “short” side of the axle and adjust the wheel on the “long” side to the correct gauge. Presto, all the wheels are nice and straight (at least for me they were). Definite improvement in both looks and performance.

When I need new motors I usually check Able Hobbies. They have a decent selection and the prices are good. Here’s a link;

Good news on the VO1000s - Loy’s Toys tells me that TCS is a going to be shipping a decoder for it soon. They said it was $4 less than the Atlas one, which they can’t seem to get (and were the only ones who claimed they could). In all liklihood, the TCS will be better, anyway. I know it is a 4 function vs. a 2 for the Atlas.
