N Scale Telephone Poles

Interested in adding telephone poles to a module for added realism. Interested in spacing but mostly in what works best when modeling the wire and techniques for stringing it. Module is in 2 parts to any additional thoughts for bridging the gap will be appreciated.

As far as “wires” go, the flexible thread sold by Berkshire is the way to go, but I cannot think of any way to bridge two modules without a great deal of effort. It IS done in N-Cat with the trolley wire, but that is one wire, not many. I would suggest an “excuse” to put the wires undergound between modules.

As a former N scaler, I wonder if you can get a fine enough wire so that it doesn’t look worse than no wire at all.
If you want an excuse to put the wires underground between moules, move the line of poles to the other side of the track, then run a thick wire down the side of the pole. This will also work at the end of your modules where it meets up with someone else’s who doesn’t have poles.

I would just use the poles - no wires. They are great dust collectors, they are too easily snagged by the great hand from the sky, and if true to scale, they can hardly be seen. But if you insist on trying, use elastic (Lycra?) thread from a sewing shop, the thinnest you can find.

Another suggestion for wire…at craft shops you can get spools of very fine monofilament thread thats used for stinging little tiny beads. Also there’s a product sold at sewing/cloth shops called “invisable thread” that might work too. Both are extremly strong and won’t break when you get your “big hooks” hung up in them…Vic

Forgot to say thanks to all of you for replying. I haven’t had time to work further on this but you’ve given me plenty to work with.

Again thanks,
