N scale track planning template

Hello all,

I’m new to model railroading and am working on my first N scale layout of the Atlantic Coast Line RR in the early 50’s. I’m using a CTT N scale template to work up the track plan.

My mainline radius will be 15" - My question is (and this may sound silly), do I still need to figure in the easements for for the curves or are those already factored in the template? Looking at the template, it appears the easements are already in but I want to be certain.

The template may have been changed since the one I own was produced in the 1990s or so, but mine does not have easements built in. All the circle segments are of a constant radius.

I would be a little surprised if easements are included.

Yes, you should figure to include easements. I’ve found that it helps longer equipment negotiate the curve better.
