N scale Unitrack switch question

What are all the parts needed to have manual control of the #6 turnouts in N scale ?

I know they come pre-wired, so am I correct in assuming that one turnout and one of the turnout control switches is all that is needed for manual control ?

I.e., do the turnout wires then connect to the turnout control switch, and you’re set ?

I think what you’re calling manual control is actually “remote control”. Typically I would say that manual control is when you are physically moving something with your hand and not just pressing a button or moving a toggle.

I’ve only had one unitrack switch and it seemed pretty simple if I recall. Hook the turnout wires into the switch that is supplied, get power to the switch from your power pack or another source, and you should be good to go from there.

I’m sure others could offer more / better advice, I’m not a fan of unitrack myself.

Thanks ! You’re right; I didn’t word my question well

In addition to the turnout itself, you need a #24-840 Turnout Control Switch, and if you are opperating from the AC terminals on your power pack, you need a #24-842 DC Converter. The converter wires connect to the power pack, and the converter itself snaps onto the side of control switch with what looks like the terminals for a 9 volt battery. Each subsequent control switch snaps into the side of the previous ones via the same kind of 9-voltish terminals. Do not attempt to use switches meant to control typical dual-coil switch machines.

Thanks !

Quite welcome.
