N scale wheelset length question

I am preparing to upgrade all of my equipment to metal wheelsets. I am looking at a number of brands, but I am seriously considering Fox Valley wheelsets. First, has anyone had any problems with replacement wheelsets from Fox Valley? Second, I see replacement wheelsets for Atlas trucks in both 0.553 and 0.563 lengths. How do you know which to use on which Atlas trucks? Will 0.01" in length make a significant difference? Finally, I have found which wheels to use in all of my other rolling stock except for one reefer made by MDC Roundhouse. Does anyone know which “brand” or length of Fox Valley wheelset best fits these trucks? Thanks in advance for your input.

Ron

Take out your calipers and measure the wheel sets. Then pick the fox valley set that matches. What is so difficult here?

I agree. Every modeler worth his salt should have a good set of digital calipers. They are one of the most useful tools you will own except for the X-acto knife.

Well, thanks for the insults, but I think my modeling stands for itself and I don’t have a set of calipers. If I had a set I wouldn’t have asked. It is brilliant answers like this that reminds me why I rarely participate in these forumns anymore. Thanks for nothing but insulting my inteligence!
