These are the only three N&W photos from the 50’s I found on railpictures.net.

If you go to the main page and scroll down there is a search section. You can select railroad, locomotive type, date taken, and more. The three pics above were the results for Norfolk & Western in the railroad field and the date taken field set to 1950-1959.

THANK YOU . I AM STARTING TO GET THE HANG OF THIS COMPUTER THING . THANKS . RON

For pictures of steam locomotives, Fallenflags.org is usually better.

rrpicturearchives have 6 pages of steam and diesels mixed together by locomotive number-

thanks again for all the info . RON

I use the fallenflags site a lot, but you can get some useful data at the following as well:

http://www.steamlocomotive.com/

At the top banner, find “Wheel Arrangements”. Click on that, find the name of the type you are interested in, and then find the applicable info relating to N&W. Also, next to that, at it’s right, is “Steam Types” which will provide you with images and data on the articulated and non-articulated steamers. You’ll find N&W Mallet-type engines covered there.

Enjoy.

Thanks again . RON
