Does anyone know if there’s a specific name for the rectangular (usually black or gray) markings found on top of the noses of many F-units? (shown below) I’m trying to find someone who makes sheets of decals just of these and not knowing the name is making it hard to look.
Not sure of the technical name, but those are adhesive strips with a sandpaper grit on them. They are put there so that anyone needing to work there (i.e. clean windshield, replacing a wiper blade) have a non-slip surface to work on.
Microscale does provide ‘anti-glare’ panels:
I don’t recall if I’ve ever seen the Scotch “Safety-Walk” anti-skid panels before but any set of black striping would certainly work. Some sets even come with numberboard background decals that would probably work in a pinch.
