National Train Day is basically Amtrak’s baby, isn’t it?

Y’ALL, can call it NATIONAL TRAIN DAY if you want to, but I still prefer it being called ‘RAILROAD DAY’., long long time ago in a faraway place, actually, Atlanta, Ga, Railroad Day was usually in the month of September,during the appearance of the Southeastern Worlds Fair., admittance was free., reduced rides., food and all junk was a nickle or dime., Believe RailRoad Day was held all across this Great Country of ours., sometimes during the year.[tup]
I plan to check it out at Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal.I will most likely arrive by Metrolink instead of Amtrak,as the tickets are much cheaper.[:)]
ugh why do they only tell you what day its on and not what time? I had to do some math using the countdown timer [banghead]
Naturally, there’s nothing going on in Philadelphia. You would think, as being the ancestrial home of the Pennsyvania RR, there would be something.

Sounds good, but not much of a bargain. The normal round trip fare from St. Louis to Chicago is $46.00. What could they possibly be doing with the other $232.00?
If they want to promote something, I suggest that for that price they throw in meals, a baseball game, a visit to the Museum of Science and Industry, a tour of the rail facilities around Union Station, and maybe a short cab ride.
I base my suggestion on the opinion that Amtrak should be able to get complimentary or near-complimentary prices from all the merchants/organizations involved.

I’m so excited about National Train Day, ill probably spend it listening to NS TRAINS , heading north and west from Atlanta, hooppee…OR IS IT WHOOPPEE…Thank You Amtrak![wow][swg]
