National Train Show: Any pre WW1 models announced?

For those of you that attended the National Train show: Was there anything shown or announced that the pre-World War I modeler could use? Locomotives, kits, buildings, anything? Thanks - Nevin

Yesterday, “wgnrr” (Phil) posted an entry under the title of “Finally, a HO McKeen Car”, which certainly qualifies for that era. This is by Funaro & Camerlingo, and is a 55’ body. I’ll see if I can copy the photo:

Hope this helps. Bill

There does not appear to be anything other than the F&C McKeen car.

You do know about the industry ban on producing any new models of pre-1900 trains - right?

Excuse my ignorance, is the “ban”: 1. Toung-in-cheek? 2. A dig at the manufacturers? or 3. Real?[?]

YES!

Modelling pre-WW1 railroads is always going to be a niche/minority interest. Rather than complain about manufacturers not producing more models, I’d be developing my skills in the area of resin kit-building and scratchbuilding, or perhaps even producing your own kits…

Cheers,

Mark.

there is already more avalible in pre ww1 than any modler could build in a lifetime!
