NBC model passenger train in "10.5"

Tonight, I was watching the mini-series “10.5” about a major earthquake that causes the west coast of the United States to fall into the see.

They showed what appears to be a large scale passenger train that was over taken by a crack in the ground. Let me say that many of our layouts looked more real.

It was a poorly executed scene in terms of plot development. The train was doing what looked like 100+ miles per hour and was being pursued by a “crack in the ground.” The writers wantonly destroyed the train and stopped as soon as it was overtaken. Poor plot point! I would have at least had the crack overtake and pass the train.

The scene made me feel sad! It did effect me![:(]

If you’ve seen “The Greatest Show on Earth” with Chuck Heston, they have a big train wreck and it looks like an American Flyer Circus Train. It also was a poor job of editing. The best films are when they use “real” trains, although I hate to see them destroyed.

Yeah, the train wreck in “The Greatest Show on Earth” on earth could have been better. Still, I too was effected by the idea of the train wreck in that one as well. I guess I just don’t like to see trains in such a negative light.

What a mountainous, laborious heap of [censored] ! This is SO bad that makes the Irwin-never-met-a-disaster-I-didnt-exploite-Allen and Chuck-get-your-stinking-paws-off-me-you-dam-dirty-ape-Heaston’s 70’s trainwreck of a film “Earthquake” look like “Dr Zhivago”! [D)][:-,][(-D]

From what I saw of the train in the film, it looked more like a lame HO scale train, didnt you notice the track came apart just like Atlas sectional track? LMAO![:D]

Haven’t seen any of these but it sounds like a good laugh. Reminds me of when SCTV did a spoof on StarTrek. REEEEEAL cheesy. Anyone that cannot afford to do it right will end up with what I call a Hemer. Now my side hurts…Later eh…Brian.

BAD BAD BAD I havent seen something this bad since the lame made for TV movies of the early 80’s…

This is proof positive that you can have the some paints, canvas, light and scenery that Leonardo de Vince had, but if you give it all to a Chimp, well…you aint gonna get the Mona Lisa…

IOW the same technologal CGI effects magic that created middle earth in LotR can still be used to make a stinker. Just cause you have the technology doesnt guarentee a good product…
