If you don’t get an answer here, you might also try bouncing the same question off the folks at the NCE-DCC Yahoo forum group. Larry Larsen @ NCE usually frequents that site on a regular basis. Consisting is the one thing I really haven’t experimented much with using the Power Cab.

FYI: Terry, if you do join the NCE-DCC Yahoo group, it will take a few days before you actually get access to the site to post your question.
Press select loco then type in the lead loco of the consist and hit enter- it should say con and then the number of the lead loco. That’s all there is to it. You then have control of it. If you then enter it into the recall button- you can access it faster just by pressing recall. Just remember, you can only store 2 locos or consists into the recall button
Let me rephrase that: If your engines are speed matched, it’s easy to do. If not , you have to match them 1st- for me, not an easy task. I’m still learning . lol
thanks craig and tom for your help.will try what you suggested craig.cant try it now as im over at our other place away from the layout.to get to my consists now, i have to hit at least 6 or 7 buttons[banghead].terry…
I may have to try that this year. I have a BLI Mike and Trix Mike that I’ll need to speed match first. My Trix Mike runs so smoothly that I don’t want to alter it’s speed table. The BLI Mike’s speed table will then need to be matched to the Trix Mike. That will be more of a challenge.
I did temporarily consist them together for fun one time. But I had them running on two different addresses and matched theirs speeds with the speed step buttons of my Power Cab. The Trix ran at 60; the BLI, ~65. In order to stop them both at the same time, I had to disconnect the Power Cab from the layout. Instant shutdown.
