I got a brand new Power Pro and am having some problems with it. I programed the decoder and it read the decoder fine on the program track. When I went into programming the left status light started flashing fast as it should. But when I was done with programing it still stays flashing fast and wont run anything on the regular track. I tried a system reset which didnt help so I am kinda out of ideas for this.
Anybody seen this before or know how to get it out of programming mode and turn the power back onto the track?
I have a Power Pro and the radio ProCab, and there is conflicting information in the Power Pro System Reference Manual concerning the status light.
Page 12 of the Manual explains the LEDs on the Command Station, and how to properly connect a programming track. When the system is in normal operations mode you should get a solid yellow indicator LED A red or green glow indicates that something is not connected properly. There is no mention of a flashing LED on this page.
Jumping ahead to page 15 of the manual, under the section heading STATUS LIGHT – referring to the STATUS LED on the front panel:
This light will illuminate steadily under normal operations. Flashing indicates an abnormal or fault condition.
Steady On – Track power is on and operations are normal.
Rapid Flash – No DCC signal from command station (control bus cable is unplugged, programming track in use, etc.).
Slower Steady Flash – Short Circuit (over current shutdown). The booster will shut down for 2-3 seconds or until the short or load of over 5.1 Amps is removed.
If your problem is because you are still in “program” mode, just press the PROG/ESC button to return to operations mode. If this does not correct the problem, then double check all of your wiring connections and insure that your programming track is totally isolated from the rest of your layout and is connected to the programming track terminals on the command station.
And remember, you must move the locomotive off of the programming track before it can be operated unless you have added a DPDT toggle switch so you can run on the programming track.
