I purchased an Intermountain Regal Line drive unit for an Intermoutain F-7B shell. The drive unit came without instructions. There is a circuit board with a six-pin female plug. I’d like to install a decoder but am stumped as to what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Telephone or e-mail InterMountain and ask then for instructions…

It’s probably an NMRA socket for those wanting ‘plug-in’ DCC decoders - your choice. Do you have DCC?
Decoders run from the sublimly rediculous to those that operate lighting effects (Mars lights) and Engine sounds - which requires a speaker installation ($100).
If you use a DCC decoder in your ‘B’ unit,
what is in the ‘A’? If you have a ‘dummy’A’ you’re fine, BUT If you have a powered ‘A’, you will need 2 decoders.
DEPENDING on the DCC system being used, might make a difference, but you haven’t declared which one you have, as well as what’s inside your ‘A’ yet.
The ‘Regal’ chassis’ just snap into the I.M. F-7 shell and doesnt require instructions. I’m guessing you’re running DC, from your questions?
