Need a source for code 83 flextrack

I am starting a new, larger layout and need an on line (lo cost) source for code 83 nickle silver flex. All my existing turnouts are Walthers/Shinohara and need to be shimmed up to match my current Atlas tie thickness. I can use atlas and shims or buy new track that matches the W/S tie thickness. I will need about 99 feet of new track. Any suggestions will surely help.

I have about thirty or so W/S turnouts on my layout and have just come home with my ninth or tenth box of W/S code 83 track. I would say just go to the store and buy some. If you order through mail order from the U.S. or any other foreign country you will get dinged for duty and expensive shipping. There are Canadian mail order places, but again after the dust clears and shipping and handling are taken into account it is not worth the hassle. It is just easier to buy it at the local train/ Hobby store.

Under free trade anything manufactured in the U.S. will not have duty on it. If you order something from the U.S. that was manufactured elsewhere then it gets expensive.

Another option is to go to the U.S. and load up on all the things you need and bring it back. I have come back way over the daily limit and they always just wave me through.

By the way I think people born in Winnipeg are the best.[:D]

modeltrainstuff.com is good site with very good prices. It would not take much in your order to offset the shipping cost versus many other hobby shops/ websites

Bruce, try all the usual sites, and even phone and get a quote. I intend to use ME’s rails next time around. What would they want to ship directly to you?

Don’t forget Craig at Dallas Model Works, Toy Train Heaven, Caboose Hobbies, Internet Hobbies, traintrack.net, and any other number of places who may save you a bit if they can get what you want and ship it to you.

NHS Hobbies has been a good source for me.
