Need a tender for a Mantua 2-6-6-2 loco

I have several of the Mantua 2-6-6-2 loco - but one has a bad tender truck. Need to replace the tender or truck -

This got complex when the company that purchased Mantua a few years ago went out of business.

Anyone know where I might be able to get one of the newer tenders or truck sets.?

Thanks in advance,

Jim Quarles

I read that MRC bought the company. It might be worth invesrigating that.

Without having the engine in hand – I assume the tender trucks are part of the electrical pick up? There are other makes of such trucks that, assuming the bolsters are compatible, would work. Search the Walthers catalog, as well as Bowser’s.

Mantua tenders are pretty common items at swap meets and often a tender intended for a different locomotive will substitute just fine, as well as giving the engine a different look. Old Model Die Casting and Bowser tenders migtht also substitute.

Thanks for the ideas - I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks for the feedback Hadn’t heard about MRC - Mantua stuff is nearly bullet proof - hope someone picks them up.

Mantua was owned by Model Power, that was apparently sold to MRC. Good luck!

Hope someone gets their act together. Got a note from Model Power awhile back - sounds like a game banks are playing with small companies.

Shame.
