I’m trying to get any information on the passenger station in Yuma Arizona. I know it was built in 1926 by the SP and used by the Yuma Art Museum from 1971 until it burned down in 1995. I’d love ANY additonal information. Needless to say photos or plans would be a major discovery, but I’d be happy with anything right now.
Was it a single or two story structure? If it was 2 story, there are two others still in existence in Willcox and Patagonia, Arizona. Both have been restored. The one in Willcox is the tourism bureau in one end and UP maintenance offices in the other; the one in Patagonia is their city hall. For a single story structure, there’s one in Benson, but it is a replica and not the original.
I have no idea, everything I know about it was included in my first post.
Thanks, that site has some great shots of the freight building, which I can make great use of since my MRR Club was planning on freelancing the freight house model building. I was asked to build the freight house model, so now I can have a protypical based model of the freight house.
I still can’t find any info at all on the passenger station.
Might I suggest checking out the SP Historical society and their links.
