well its somewere in america. I’d start searching on measeum and tourest rail sites for something close (steam in america has a facelift every time it gets a new owner so its painted up for something else). Good luck and good hunting! [%-)]
Ah, some locomotives have all the luck, but its good to see one get back to running condition.
First, very nice looking model so far. Please keep photos coming as you progress.
Now… onto the question at hand. From the photo on the restoration website http://www.csrmf.org/railtown/images/no-3.jpg, the locomotive has air brakes. The cylinder is the small round thing between the 2nd and 3rd driver, next to the frame. That would have a lever attached to it going to the bottom of the frame, where it would most likely pivot. The bar would continue below the frame where it would attach to the brake rigging that moves all the shoes. What–exactly–this looks like can’t be seen in the photo, but its construction is very typical of any steam locomotive.
Since the locomotive is being restored, you may want to try to contact those doing the restoration. They are hopefully photographing the progress, and may have some photos that they could share with you showing you what you need to see.
Good luck, and again–keep the photos of your progress coming.
Later,
K
