Need ER Models Sharknose Feed-back ....

I’m seriously considering a couple ER Models Sharknose engines. The thing is, I’ve never personally witnessed how well these run and am a little apprehensive. Can someone give me their first-hand experience ? I’m mostly interested in how well they run - are they comparable to Atlas - Athearn - ?

TIA for any input,
Mark.

They run very well indeed - performance is up to Atlas standards, you get a well balanced can motor and silent truck gearing, it also has a DCC socket. Body detailing is rather sparse and you’ll probably want to alter the coupler mountings to use Kadee #5s and get closer coupling (they recommend the #34 which will fit but doesn’t give particularly close coupling or look particularly good - I’ve managed to fit a #5 on the rear of mine using a couple of pieces of styrene strip to get the right height when mounted to the frame, you’ll need to take a file to the shell too to make it fit back together). Hope this is of use!

Thanks Matt !!! Really appreciate the review.

Mark;

E-R went out of business.

The HO Shark models were built by Roco, they are an upgraded version of the Shark that Model Power imported several years ago.

You may also want to consider the forth coming PCM models.
