Need help finding decoders for a fleet of Kato SD40-2's

Hey guys,
I’m new to DCC and could use some help. After doing some research on BLI SD40-2s with sound and getting mixed reviews, I decided to just convert my fleet of BN Kato SD40-2s to DCC. Could someone recommend which decoder would be the best route to go? To many options to think about.
Also has anyone been able to add a realistic sound decoder to the Kato SD40-2? HELP! Thanks CUrt

I’m not sure, but I’m told that the Digitrax decoders are the best.

TCS decoders offer a “goof-proof” warantee, even if you make a mistake and plug the decoder into the wall outlet instead of your beer fridge. The T1 is a good, basic “fleet” decoder for just getting your engines to run with headlights, but without all the bells and whistles (literally, in this case.)

I’ve also had good luck with Digitrax basic decoders.

i use all digitrax there rather easy to use and they havent failed me yet. Never had a problem with em. then again cant say much cause i never tried anything else

Check this link for TCS’s recommendation.

Thanks, at least I have somwhere to start now. Curt
