Hi all, here is the question I ask. I have a lionel AA diesel set marked burlington. It is silver has KMT in an oval near the rear and has a yellow painted stripe on the frame. The number is 2715 in the number board. I can show a pic if need be. The question is I am missing the horn details on both units. It has dual holes. Where can I find them? I have looked at my local hobby shop that is a repair center and they do not have them. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to redecal it and repaint it as my brother and I were a little abusive when we were little. It is not bad but would look nice being redone.
You Alcos were origionally made by Kusan and the tooling ended up with K-Line. Brassuer Electric Trains carries K-Line parts. He lists the horns as pn K-2100-21. They should work.
Your Alcos look to be in excellent condition. The silver looks good and the lettering is all there. You don’t see em like that often. It may be worth the effort to find junker Alco shells on ebay just to get origional horns and keep your Alcos all original.
Thank you sir. I will look up the info you gave me tomorrow. The overall condition is good. The front decal is chipped and you can not distinguish burlington on it. The powered frame is missing the yellow stripe. Can’t remember if it had it and wore off or if it was never there.
I am watching a couple lionel alco window glass to replace the missing one on the dummy. Will these work on the kmt?
