HELP!! After a couple weeks of poking at my Walthers American Crane (repainting in WC colors, installing a light, installing a decoder, trying my damndist to make it fit in that TINY cab, rigging up all of the cables) I got it all together and went to tighten up the cables for the boom with the little included tool… nothing. What the heck!? went to tighten the cable for the hook… it moved a tiny bit then… nothing… !!! I carefully took the cab back off and find that the little tabs that grab the tool to turn the two drums have broken off.
The drums are made with the tabs on both sides, so I COULD turn them around and try them on the side that is left. But I’m not sure I want to go thru all of that trouble of redoing it just to have it break again. Should I try to flip them around and reem out the holes in the brackets a little, or could someone make me some new drums out of metal on a lathe for me? I can get some dimensions if someone could make one.
