Need help: Pictures and ideas

Greetings all,

I’m currently in the process of writing Freeware software to control DCC trains through Lenz hardware and I need some help.

Right now I’m working on artwork to represent the various function buttons that are available to QSI decoders. You can see them at http://home.comcast.net/~XNetTrain/Screens.htm

I need help with a few functions that I’m not sure how to represent. I could use images, or ideas how to represent these functions.

F4: Steam Blower Hiss (Steam)
F6: Startup (Both)
F7: Gas Turbine Toggle (Diesel?)
F7: Long Air Letoff (Steam)
F9: Air Letoff (Steam)
F9: Shutdown (Both)

Additions are currently in the works for cab lights, number boards, brake squeel, cooling fans, and dynamic brakes. So those I have covered in addition to what’s already on the web page.

I also posted in the prototype forum, but I don’t seem to be having any luck there. So please forgive the cross post if you saw this twice.

~Thanks

Man I thought you guys would be full of ideas. Nuts.

After a little digging I found several Pyle Generator images that I can model for steam engines for the steam blower power up/down. (F4)

Can someone point me to an image of an actual diesel engine that I can model?
I figure I might be able to use up/down arrows in front of an engine to indicate power up or shut down.

Does any one know where I can find an internal image of the heater wires on dynamic brake? I tried rail images with no luck.

~Thanks
