Need HELP to open stuck coupler!!

The Electro coupler on my Lionel pwc 773 Hudson is stuck in the open position. I dont have a TMCC operating system only Convential MTH Z4000 Xfmr.

Can I open the coupler with this system.

You should be able to just push it closed, but you will not be able to open it without TMCC. If it doesn’t stay closed something internal might have broke when it was (forced?) opened.

With a little luck, you can open a closed electromagnetic coupler two ways:

Thread a small solid copper wire past the knuckle and into the drawbar to push back the iron slug to release the knuckle.

Holding the tender vertically with one hand with the closed coupler up, smack it down against the palm of the other hand.
